1. Who is easy to dry
age
Children
Children from about 5 to 6 months of age to prepuberty tend to have less sebum and become dry.

Female
From the late 30s, the secretion of sebum decreases and it becomes easier to dry.

Senior citizens
As you age, you sweat less and your skin becomes thinner, so it tends to be very dry.

Constitution
Atopy constitution
People with diseases such as asthma, hay fever, conjunctivitis, urticaria, and atopic dermatitis.
Abnormal genetic barrier function (ichthyosis)
People with illnesses such as diabetes, cirrhosis and chronic renal failure
2. What is the condition of dry skin?
The surface of the skin has a layer of cells called the stratum corneum, and the outside is covered with sebum. The stratum corneum retains water, and sebum forms a film that keeps the skin moisturized. The stratum corneum also acts as a barrier to prevent external stimuli. Dry skin is a condition in which the surface of the skin becomes dry due to a decrease in the water content of the stratum corneum and a decrease in the secretion of sebum.

3. What is the relationship between dry skin and itching?
Leaving dry skin peels off the stratum corneum and reduces the barrier function. Allergens and irritants enter there and cause itching. Once you feel itching and scratch it, you will get sick, and you will fall into a vicious cycle of itching, which is scratching due to itching. Drug therapy is needed to cure dry rash.
It is important to prevent dry skin with proper moisturizing care before it gets worse and becomes a skin disease.

4. How is itching transmitted?
In response to irritation to the skin, itching substances produced by various cells of the skin, including histamine released from mast cells, are transmitted to the brain as itching via nerve fibers. Not only for dry skin, but also for swelling, nerve fibers extend into the epidermis, making it easier to convey itching. When these overlap, a chain reaction occurs, leading to a vicious cycle of itching.

5. Three ingredients to keep healthy skin
When the balance of the three moisturizing factors, natural moisturizing factor, ceramide, and sebum, is lost, the skin becomes dry.

Natural moisturizing factor
Moisture
It replenishes plenty of water inside the keratinocytes.
There are mainly amino acid-based components.

Ceramide
Moisturize
It has a high water retention effect and fills the space between keratinocytes to keep it moisturized.

Sebum
Do not remove water
It strengthens the sebaceous membrane and prevents the evaporation of water.
Sebum-like ingredients include squalane.

6. Tips for skin-friendly living
● Keep the air conditioner modest and adjust the room temperature diligently. In winter, it is also effective to use a humidifier together.

● Make a habit of seasonal skin care such as moisturizers and sunscreens.

● It makes sense to sleep at night when cells are regenerated. Don't stay up late and get plenty of sleep.

● Avoid excessive dieting and have a well-balanced diet.

7. Body care for dry skin
Step1. Wash

Choose a soft material that is less likely to cause an allergic reaction, such as a cotton towel. You can just stroke it gently with the palm of your hand. Do not rub hard when wiping your body. Talk to a dermatologist if you have severe skin or redness.

Sweat and dirt on the surface of the skin can be irritating to the skin, so it is important to remove them properly. However, do not rub strongly with a nylon towel or Akasuri towel. If you remove more sebum than you need, your skin will become drier.

How to choose soap and body soap
There are many types of soaps and body soaps, including those with scrubs and those that are refreshing, but people with dry skin should choose the ones that are as mild as possible. It is best to use a cleansing agent whose detergency is controlled so as not to remove too much sebum.

Rinse carefully
If cleansing ingredients such as soap remain on the skin, it can cause itching and inflammation. I'm concerned about the feeling of use and foaming, but it is also important to choose a soap that does not leave ingredients on the skin and is easy to rinse off.

Step2. Use

Slowly soaking in the bathtub improves blood circulation and has the effect of relaxing the whole body. It also makes it easier to remove dirt from the skin, making it easier for the moisturizer to penetrate the skin after bathing. However, the temperature of the hot water is 38 to 40 degrees Celsius, and it takes about 10 minutes to use, so it is important not to overheat the body.

Hot water and long baths raise your body temperature, which can increase itching and remove too much sebum. When choosing a bath salt, avoid those that have too high a thermal effect or that contain ingredients that dry the skin.

Benefits of moisturizing bath salts
If you use a moisturizing bath salt, it will form a film on the surface of the skin of the whole body just by using it and prevent it from drying out after bathing. Even elderly people who have difficulty reaching their backs and children who are reluctant to apply moisturizers can easily take care of their skin every day.

Step3. Paint

After taking a bath, the skin cells contain water and become soft, and the penetration and absorption capacity is enhanced, so it is the best timing for moisturizing. It is important to apply a moisturizer containing oily ingredients firmly to create a barrier that keeps the skin moisturized.

There are many different types of moisturizers, but you want to avoid irritating ingredients. For those who are concerned about dry skin, we recommend the type that contains an oily component that forms a film to prevent the evaporation of water. Choose ingredients that are gentle on the skin and easy to get used to, and be careful not to forget to apply them.
For those who have already seen a dermatologist
If you have redness or scratches and jerking, see a dermatologist. For example, if you are prescribed an external preparation such as steroids for atopic dermatitis, you need to apply the medicine first. Talk to a dermatologist when using a moisturizer depending on your condition.

Especially in areas where you feel dry
Apply a generous amount of moisturizer or ointment that contains a well-balanced oily ingredient. Care before good night is also effective because the moisturizing state can be maintained for a long time.

8. Simple questions about bathing and skin care
What about the bath when your skin is dry?
Dry skin is lacking in water, so take a good bath to prevent it from drying out.
You can use a bath salt that contains ingredients similar to sebum to replace the sebum lost by washing. Roughness, dry skin, atopic dermatitis, and sebum-deficient dermatitis in the elderly generally weaken the resistance of the skin, so it is important to choose one that is hypoallergenic.
If you are unsure whether to use it, you should consult your doctor.
What should I be careful of when I have an itch?
If the itch doesn't go away and you scratch it, your skin will be in poor condition. It is known that warming the body makes it easier to feel itching, so avoid taking a hot bath or using bath salts that have a high thermal effect. Itching is less likely to be felt when the itchy part is cooled.

Is it okay to soak in the hot springs when I have a rash?
It's a good idea to take a bath every day to keep your skin clean, as it gets worse as your skin gets dirty and bacteria grow. The problem is getting into the hot springs, but you should avoid hot springs that contain heat components that make you feel itchy or dry skin.
What is the point of skin care after taking a bath?
Just like applying lotion or milky lotion after washing your face, you need skin care after washing your body. Apply a moisturizer that acts as sebum that has been washed away to the soft and absorbent skin after hot water to prevent the evaporation of water. If you have symptoms such as rash or inflammation, it is important to first apply the necessary topical medication. If you forget this, your illness will get worse.

What is the proper use of medicine and skin care products?
Topical drugs are prescribed according to the symptoms of the disease, so use them in the prescribed dosage and administration where treatment is required. Skin care products, on the other hand, are designed to keep your skin healthy and can be used anytime, anywhere.
How to apply a good medicine?
It is important to use the right amount in order to get the effect of the medicine properly. The length from the tip of the index finger to the first joint (1FTU) is the size of two adult palms as a guide. If you are worried about stickiness, lightly press it with your palm and let it blend in.
